"Birthday" by Dorothea Tanning has been a long time favorite of mine. I am imspired by the colors, the long confusing hallway of doors, and the dramatic clothing she is wearing. Dorothea exposes herself to the viewer, but does not objectify herself. She is standing calmly, and does not engage the viewer.
